Hi, OP. Since we knew we wanted a German major or German speaking nanny, we went thru a language round-up message boards at the local universities. Posting on education major's student job boards is also a great way. Lots of college kids want to stay here for the summer rather than return to their hometowns.
Like any college kid - some are wonderful and responsible (like our summer nanny) and I'm sure others are not so dedicated. Good luck!

Any legal employee will need minimum wage and overtime. It will be very hard to find a nanny who wants to "live-in" for just the summer.
Look for Georgetown/college students who have apartments in the city and want to work here during the summer.

We hired a college woman who wanted to stay in town for the summer and could tutor/speak to DD in her second language and take her to lessons, swimming, etc. For the last two summers, it has worked out great.

Why would someone want to move in for only 2-3 months? What will they do with all their stuff? Where will they go afterwards? Why do you need a live-in? How little are you trying to pay?

Right now, we have au pairs, but in a couple years we want to transition away from that. I still want my kids to have less structured summers, so I don't want to send them to more than a couple weeks of camp. So I'm interested in a live-in summer nanny. Does anyone else do this? Any tips? What is a reasonable rate and where do you search for your summer nanny? I think it would be great to kind a college student who can live with us for the summer and do Mon-Friday, 9-10 hours per day. Thanks for your input.
