Why does MB have to tell you to throw away a banana peel and keep yogurt in the fridge? This should be common sense. You should come in and be ready to work immediately, take some initiative.

Why is everyone ganging up on OP? It doesn't matter how much free time she does or does not have. Her contract did not include fsmily housekeeping and mom wants to amend it. Look elsewhere , OP.

So what do you do all day? By your own admission you can't put the baby down ever, not Even for a minute to go to the bathroom. And you say the 30 min break you have is when you get all other duties done. So what exactly are you Doing all day? I nannied for a family who did attachment parenting and got tons of things done while wearing bAby, including eating.

Wow OP, your MomBoss is taking full advantage of you!! Perhaps she thinks since you are a temp it doesn't really matter to much to her whether or not you like your job, she sounds to me as if she is simply trying to stretch her dollar as far as she can get away with.

Employers like this just suck.

If you can financially afford to do so, I would give her my notice after you get your next paycheck. She is paying you a Nanny wage but asking you for maid + laundress services on top of everything else.

This speaks volumes regarding the type of person that she is, I wouldn't want to work for someone who could treat another person the way she is treating you now.

I'm a grown woman and very capable. I come highly recommended. I only took this job to hold me over until my next. Do you work with infants? This family is very particular. I hold the child at every nap, when he is awake I am with him every moment. I am not to let him fuss or cry for any reason. I set him down and he fusses to go urinate, and MB has a fit. The only time I get to urinate is the one 30 min time MB nurses. I can't eat because I have to tend to all the housekeeping.

I already do light housekeeping. Taking care of the baby's housekeeping, wiping down counters, light dishes, dishwasher, sterilizing kitchen essentials, etc. the things she wants are more than what most nannies would do. Plus it's the tone. MB also works from home FT.

The infant I have will only nap while being held. Majority of his nap time is being held or in a carrier. MB prefers it that way.

So the infant takes 2-3 naps a day, and you don't want to do light cleaning 2-4 hours a week or care for the dog for $16/hour.

Give the job to someone else who will. Get it all in the contract and be upfront that you refuse to do light cleaning of the house or kids' areas. If asked what you would do during naptimes just tell them it's none of their business.

I'm a very easy going nanny but I feel so taken advantage of in my current position. I took a temp job until my new position. We agreed that I would handle all nanny related care ( as I usually do) and unload/load the dishwasher. This past week she has been pushing my duties. Monday she altered my contract to include me feeding the dog by X time and walking him. She started asking me to vacuum, dust, doing the whole families laundry, and she bought me a swifter to mop with. The most ridiculous thing is she will nurse when I get there. When I enter she will send a text " Throw away the banana peel. Put the yogurt in the fridge."

I refused to resign and agree to any of these things. I feel like she is looking at more of a servant. I told her if she wants Thais duties included, I will need a higher rate. They refused. I'm currently paid $16 per hour for one infant. I need the income but I do not think I can stay on doing this.
