Having a party when the parents are out of town is about as "high school" as anyone can get.

The nanny should be fired for such disrespect and irresponsibility. OP should be glad - a girl with such poor judgement is certainly not responsible enough to care for the health and welfare of children.

OP didn't get the nanny fired. Nanny is to blame. She chose to have a party without permission.

OP here. I don't mind parties but the partygoers dumping empty bottles in several yard was my breaking point. If the neighbors and not the nanny had been responsible I still would have said something. (I probably should have had the nanny clean up the bottled but we just figured it was better to get everything cleaned quicklym.)

They are gathering more information from other neighbors (one called the police because she heard people fighting outside her house) but yes they probably will fire herm I don't take much joy in that fact but letting someone live in your home and care for your children requires tremendous trust and faith in their good judgment. The nanny did not demonstrate good judgment.

Excuse me, but I'm a live-in nanny, and I've told my NF and a neighbor when the neighbor's nanny was doing inappropriate things. It doesn't matter who it comes from, and the family has a right to know, it's their house, not the nanny's!

I would have let the live-in clean up the bottles.

Live-in nanny here. Wow. I'm glad you contacted the parents, because that's not acceptable. I never have friends over when my NF is there, and I always make sure that it's ok before I have a dinner party when they are gone, but I provide the food, there is no drinking, and nobody is loud or unruly. It sounds like they hired a college kid instead of a professional.
