I wouldn't want a strange man staying in my house overnight with my young children. If she had her own apartment, that's a different story. Friends over for the evening, sure.

I've had NFs that wanted to know exactly who would be in their house (no separate entrance), so I made sure that any friends came to the door and then we left. In other positions, I had a separate entrance (or a separate domicile which the family provided), so if was fine. My rule of thumb is that I don't want my friends walking through if the kids are streaking through the house or misbehaving, so I try to avoid the situation.

You should be able to, however some families may not be too happy with a boyfriend staying the night.

I do have one friend who has the same rules for her live in as se does for her college aged stepdaughter. Same sex friends fine, opposite sex friend no overnight. It just seems weird to me to treat the nanny like that. Then aGain we had a formal lease with our live in so we really tried to treat her like a tenant in that regard and not an employee

Imagine your friend finding out her live-in nanny was a lesbian.

Yes. You are a person not a slave. When you aren't working you are basically a roommate. You can have a friend over.

It really depends on so many things. If you aren't happy with your NF, you can get another one.

Are you allowed to have friends over during off duty hours?
