Huh? This is water under the bridge and a ridiculous question.

you're over thinking this. If you need a job take it and while you're working it, either get confirmation for the Sept job or keep looking for something long term, preferably w/ a Sept start time. You never know, this could turn into long term if the other person falls through or they decide they really like you and don't want to switch later on.

I would stay with them until until the end of the position. I guess I am used to be the first option for the families I work with. This is making me feel a little like second best, and their second option. I worry that aren't that excited about me, but are doing this because it's more beneficial for themselves. I tend to overthink however. Is this a normal feeling?

If I needed a job and had the time to do a temp assignment, why not.

I am interviewing for a new position and stumbled upon a family that lives three blocks from me. During the interview, the mom noted that they were going to meet with a sister of the dad's friend, but she won't be able to start until September. They did decide to go with the family friend, but they are asking if I would be open to waiting their child until the other nanny is available. I have an opportunity to start in September for a family friend, but nothing is set in stone. I kind of want to take it for the salary, hours, and close proximity, but wonder if I should not waste time and accept a long-term position. I just started interviewing and this is my first offer. Part of me feels a bit rejected, but I know it's nothing personal. They like me enough to want me for this short-term. Nannies - would you do this - why or why not?
