My ex sister in law asked me to call in sick since her sitter canceled last minute she even said she would call them if I wasn't comfortable calling in. I never liked her and can't stand her 5 kids (yes my nephews) and try and have little contact with them. I don't even sit on my day off so no way would I call in to take care of her animals instead of my charges

OP, my sister asked me to housesit and watch her dogs during my vacation, so she could go visit her husband. Yes, I would be childfree for the week, but no, I wasn't really interested in dogsitting or housesitting. The worst part: well, I wouldn't have to pay her rent for borrowing the house because I would be watching the dogs. Um no, but if you want me to even consider it, you will pay *me*...

I'm not a nanny but a SAHM. I regularly get things like, "Oh, so you're not doing anything this week, right?" from family members. They usually think they can just stop in any time because of course we "aren't doing anything." It drives me nuts! Just because my kids aren't in daycare or school doesn't mean that we are just sitting around the house 24/7!

My sister once asked me to take a week off of work to keep her kids so her and her husband could go on vacation. She offered to pay what my bosses pay me. One, I would never give up MY vacation to watch kids and two there's no way she could afford my pay.

What silly or just plain crazy stuff has your family and/or friends said to you in reference to your job as a nanny?
