I have shopped for some, not for others.

I actually like taking infants-preschoolers and teens shopping, each can learn. The only ones I don't like to take shopping are elementary age kids.

It's not hard, although it partly depends on the kids.
It also isn't a "child related activity." It's a housekeeping/house managing task.

Oh for crying out loud. How helpless are you people? It is NOT particularly hard to shop with children. I have four of them and manage to survive shopping every single weekend.

I've shopped for NF in the past with my charges. It's good for kids to get out and learn how to behave in public.

I do shopping for the family but I notice my MB never requests things not intended for my charges. And they are in school 3.5 hrs per day that I'm still paid so I do it then. I do tow them with me to places like hobby lobby or If we just need to grab something like peanut butter.

Whenever I can, I try to avoid bringing my kids shopping. Shopping and young kids is usually not a great combination.

if its available, do the express shop (harris teeter has this). It's an additional $5 that goes directly on the card your using for groceries.. you can wait in the car with the child and they bring the groceries to you.

Hope you pay her well. Seems like a lot to dump on her.

No NF would ever expect me to food shop unless I wanted to, and it was a pleasant experience for their child. For some children, it's just too much stimulation for them. Parents should learn to respect that.

Tell your employers that your charge does not like it and you do not feel it is an appropriate task for either of you.

I only grocery shop for my charge and things he eats or I make for him during my shift (obviously I will pick up milk and make sure his parents never have to run out of any staple product like milk, diapers or laundry detergent) I would never to general marketing for his parents.

How many nannies do the family grocery shopping? It started off as going to the store to pick up some things and kill some time between activities and has become a weekly responsibility. The 5 year old does not like going to the store. I think of this task as more of a housekeeper job. Should I tell them I don't mind picking up a few things now and then but I'd rather not do a full shopping load with the kids every week. I also only work part time. Or should I just do it and not say anything?
