She may just be venting to you about traffic. We all do.

However, if she is expecting you to arrive EARLIER than your scheduled time, even by ten min. or so, she should be prepared to pay a pretty penny for it.

Ask her if it would be helpful to start 30 minutes earlier, on the clock. Ask how about we do 7:30am to 5:30pm (or whatever).

Agree, just ask. I once had a job which resulted in my being stuck in God awful traffic every morning. It was so stressful but I couldn't change the time I left. I'm sure DH got tired of my venting about it. So she may just be stressed and venting and not realizing how she's coming across for you. Using PPs wording seems perfect to clear up any issues. Plus it might give her an idea she's being kind of annoying!

"Hired" being the operative word - OP is working for pay. If MB isn;t going to pay her for her time then she has no business showing up earlier.

I have no clue why your MB is being so passive aggressive - why doesn't she just come out and ask to change your start time?
