Try meeting other nannies who will understand your schedule and you job.

When I moved to another state for school, I was you ( accept not married). I didn't click with women in my school as they were younger or older or a party girl. I love working out and decided to take a boxing class. I met one friend that way leading me to meet her friends. I also took up doing a school work share ( 5 hours a week) and met other grad students outside of my classes.

I now have a ton of friends, a great boyfriend, and I'm set to graduate in a year. It does get better. Keep your head up and put yourself out there. I guarantee you will find friends

Ahhhhh. So you're about the same as me huh
Im in NW DC. Away from downtown but like 5-10 minutes away from Georgetown if you take out traffic time
One is in middle school and the other is much younger.

I moved here about a year ago, got a nanny job and had a REALLY hard time meeting people other than mom friends.
I registered for rec sports, went to a handful of MeetUp's - I felt like I really put myself out there but didn't meet anyone that felt like real friends. It was very lonely and still I haven't met many people outside of my boyfriend and brothers friends.

Find a weekend meet up, join one of those social sports leagues (I have some friends who do this and love it), volunteer. Just join a weekend activity that interests you and don't let the fact that you may be at a different stage of life deter you.

Hi All.

I've been a nanny for so long, I can't even remember since when!!
But I moved to DC a few years ago for school.
I'm married and my husband lives in another state for work (we travel a lot)

I'm at school during the day and hang out with the kids in the AM/PMs.
I have not made ONE friend. Most people at school are not willing to engage with me as they party and see me as the "married girl".

But I'm just wondering is something wrong with me...or?
I'm a very nice person. I tend to be a homebody because I've made no friends. ON weekends I go out to downtown and workout alone but it's getting lonely. My husband has made friends at work but I feel like with my long hours and school schedule I can't seem to make any friends...

Any help?

The most conversations I get is from talking to my mother on the phone...my husband throughout the day or the kids. I love them, but talking legos and superheroes all day gets a little tiring Anyone else feel like this? Or am I just over-reacting.....
