It sounds to me like you're just dealing w/ a mother who is struggling w/ readjusting.
Talk to her. Ask her if you should be concerned about your job. If she's smart, and if this is just normal readjustment anxiety, she'll reassure you and shut up.
Or, maybe you'll get confirmation that you should be looking.

OP here. I had one other family where the mom quit to stay home. She mentioned the possibility of staying he but then assured me it wouldn't be happening. Two week later and I revived notice. I think it's best I start looking. I do not need a reference from them.

I would ask her, "Are you seriously contemplating staying home with Larla? I need to know if I am losing my job."
But regardless, I would polish up my resume and add this new family as a reference (if she does decide to quit her job she will give you a great recommendation) and start looking again.
Sometimes MBs say things like this out of quilt and the desire to convince someone else that they are a good mother and sometimes they mean it. You have no way of knowing what is true.

Subject: Do I need to look for a new job?
I only started with a family two weeks ago and I like them. Everything is really good but MB is worrying me. She has told me twice that she misses her son too much at work and has contemplated taking time off work at her job. This is very worrisome to me. I do not want to be left without a job and I don't know if I should look just incase. I feel like I'm getting mixed signals because MB will then say how much they wish to never lose me. I feel she is very indecisive and may make a rash decision. I am worried about losing my job. If she had two talks with DB about it, that's means there may be some seriousness to be conversation or they are considering it. Supposedly she had contemplated this before hiring me. I do not feel secure in this position.
