I agree that 99% of agencies are conartist scammers.

Your right agency drop nanny who have a profile in care. Com as well. All agency does is run a back grown check and call references and charge parents $1000s. I fact, a parent can do the same for last than $100 agency are scanners

I think "care" is worried about its poor reputation around here. What a surprise.

I think Care.com is hit or miss.

While I have met some awesome families on there, I also have met some bad ones as well.

It's basically good + bad.

What is strange is that parents are paying good money for just "anyone" to watch their child(ren.) Meaning just anyone off the street can set up a free profile on this site and claim they are a professional nanny. Since it is completely free for nannies to use, they won't have to pay a cent.

What it all boils down to is that anyone w/internet access can go on this site, claim they are whomever they want to be and have full access to kids.

This is a horrible business model. The CEO, Ms. Sheila is making tons of money off of this and I cannot see why.

Yes some are but I ignore those, there are some very competitive paying positions as well

That's funny. I'm a mom, and 90% of my friends use Care.com to find their nannies.

I'm a nanny. Everyone knows how bad care.com is.

I find it really funny that agencies spend their time saying how bad care.com is, that they do not have quality nannies then set up a profile on care.com to recruit nannies. One big agency in my area has positions posted on care.com often then advertise that they screen out 80% of the candidates. Could it be that the good nannies have had enough of the agency nonsense and dropped the agency?
