Subject: Nanny cam for car : recommendations?
While the idea above has some merit, I would be pretty suspicious if my employers suddenly asked if they could cover my car insurance through a company I know tracks driving.
I would either politely decline, or ask why they wish to make that offer, and if they have some concern about my driving.

OP, I have a different idea for you. Progressive has a monitor device that simply tracks your driving (whether you speed, slam on breaks, etc) for a month, and if after that month you turn out to be a good driver, you get a discount on your insurance.
Offer to cover your nanny's car insurance with Progressive. You won't get a detailed report from the company, but you will know whether she earned the discount. Pass the discount along to the nanny as a thank you for going along with your request.

+1 I am an MB and have no clue what kind of secret nanny cam for your car you should get. Do your own research if this is something you feel is necessary (which I seriously doubt) and do not post such a ridiculous question on a Nanny forum just to start an argument.

Is she driving your car OP? If not, you might want to check into the legality of such recording. If you can't trust your nanny to not break the law talking on the phone while driving, why have you entrusted her with your children?

Cars are driven on public roads. Especially around here if something bad happens - other people are going to see it and get help. If something happens to me in the home (like I have a stroke or the apartment catches on fire), no one but my charge will see it. Plus I have always wanted my employers to see how hard I work when I am with their children.
In contrast, I don't generally do anything when I am driving except drive. My charges are buckled into their car-seats and I am buckled into the driver's seat -- what information can possibly be gained from watching me drive?
Okay. Then I'll wait for a parent to chime in, because this isn't about you. I want to know how the babysitter is treating my child when I'm not around. I also want to know if she's talking on the phone while driving.
I'm just looking for recs.

Oh... That is actually a good point, OP. I can see the reason for a nanny cam if you think you nanny is talking or texting while driving. I never (and I mean, never - not once) have ever used by phone when my charges were awake and out of their cribs so phone use never occurred to me.
