Contrary to the PP who was mean, my DH and I are planning on not having her in Aug in case she does land the dream job. She is that good and we do care for her that much.

Furthermore, if she doesn't have a dream job in Sept. we have promised her two more months of half-time employment, all in a written contract.

Some employers are good, or try to be. Employing her has been a gift to our family and daughter and we have felt privileged to employ her.

It sounds like maybe neighborhood listserv now and then broader advertisement in a couple of months might make the most sense.

As much as OP claims to love her nanny, she isn't interested in helping her THAT much that she would let her go early to land the best job, OP needs her up until the day her child begins daycare in September.

I agree it's early OP. But there is also a significant abundance of nannies in late summer/September when kids age out, so you might want to try to get your nanny ahead of that curve.

The best way to find a good nanny is through employer recommendations. I would write an ad here about 2 months before her end date. Also have her do her own care.com profile.

MB here. Keep an eye and ear out for women you know who are pregnant or have little ones and are talking about child care.

I'm in ARL and our nanny is exceptional. Our second is going to a full-time center in Sept. so we'd like to help nanny find a good job. How early should I start? I've seen some advertisements on neighborhood listserv but it seems sort of early.

She is looking for something very specific however. She's like one infant and one family (not interested in a share). and she doesn't drive so not ideal for all families but she's so fantastic in so many ways I want to be as helpful as possible.
