Don't forget OP that in addition to plenty of hand washing/sanitizing, etc., that you also keep your hands away from your face. Also, do not share any food, drink or eating utensils w/your charge.

This system seems to work for me.

Perhaps for extra insurance, you can also take Airborne to offer preventative care as well.

Hope this helps out.

Have you tried boosting your immune system? Drinking enough water? Just trying to brainstorm some ideas.

I've been a nanny for 10 years and have only ever got the occasional cold.

OP here and I used to be stunningly. I eat very well and run every day. Still, being a nanny, I have had nearly constant colds since I started.

I mean "stunningly healthy"...

Have you always been the kind of person who catches every bug that goes around? If so, it may not get better; some people are just more susceptible.

Lucky you.

Not OP but I am in Southern California and am outside with my charges 365 days a year for at least three hours a day -- and still got the new nanny colds!

Yes, OP, it does get better and you don't get as many colds. Hang in there.

I feel as though I have had near constant colds since becoming a nanny two years ago. I practice all preventative measures - hand washing, hand washing of charges hands, eating well, getting aerobic exercise, etc. but have had one cold after another for the last two years.

I have to take my charge to classes (Music Together and Mommy & Me) as well as playgrounds and library playrooms where we are both exposed to other little kids but I am getting more colds than he is.

Do I start to get a super immunity soon? I have a friend who said she was constantly sick the first year she taught preschool but then never again after that.
