Can't stand the gramma either, she is horrible. Thankfully MB got in a big fight with her so we haven't seen her since last Xmas.

You mean is the grandparent Asian? No. Grandma is white, American and just a bitter pill.

I truly HATE women like you MB's mother. Always finding fault...

Your charge is lucky to have you to counter-balance her bitter influence.

I dislike your MB's mother, too.

All you can do as a nanny is stay as positive and supportive of your little guy as humanly possible to make up for his lousy grandmother.

Your charge is very lucky to have you around to give him positive reinforcement and support. Your MB's mother sounds like a bitter pill. I will never understand how anyone can be so ungenerous to the face of a child - a smile would cost that woman nothing.

That sucks and there isn't anything you can do about it. Maybe some day your MB will realize that this is hurtful to her child and insulting to her as well and tell Granma to cut the shit!

MB's mother is overly critical and never has anything positive to say about my charge. All she will mention is what she thinks he should be doing at this age that he isn't (he's only 1.5 and very bright). My MB buys into her mother's critical comments and then is dissatisfied with her own child's progress.

What really bothers me is when my charge wants to show them something he learned (like the hand movements to "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star") and gets nothing - not even a smile from his grandmother (who will then turn to his mother and say something like he should be talking more by now). I, of course, applaud wildly and tell him how great he did.

The grandmother is around once a week, caring for my charge, and I just think she is a miserable influence on him.

I know, I know... nothing I can do about it but make my charge feel good about himself and his accomplishments when I'm with him on the other four days a week.

I guess this is just a vent...
