I would simply ask for the IRS mileage rate at the moment.

This covers more than simply gasoline costs, it also counts add'l wear & tear on your vehicle as well.

Just keep a mileage log and turn it in to your bosses weekly. You may also get a tax deduction, but am not sure.

Or:

If the parks and zoos, etc. are relatively close-by, you can always simply agree on a weekly flat rate to make it less complicated.

Did you know I get a rate hike if your kid gets in my car?

The IRS allowance doesn't cover that at all, because it wasn't set-up for nanny taxi service for your kids.

Bet you had no clue. Nannies are getting taken advantage of yet again.

Taking the kids on local outings occasionally is my expectation of standard work for a nanny. If it is far or preschool commuting then it merits specific repayment. But going to the playground down the road or to the mall once a week a couple miles away? Fully part of "taken children on local outings" expectation established on hiring.

Yes, employers *should* supply a car, imo.

yes it does. The IRS rate is specifically designed to cover wear/tear/gas/insurance/operating costs etc...

Not "wear and tear" by sloppy kids with juice boxes and rice cakes all over.

If you could manage to be an adult and set rules with the kids, then you wouldn't have these issues.

My employer supplies a car for me and she is very clean, so I respect that. I don't let my charges eat in the car and give them water when they are thirsty. I don't load my charges up with empty sugar calories.

Well, some kid management can easily prevent "juice boxes and rice cakes all over". We have pretzels and water in the car w/ our kids. No big deal. Occasionally we vacuum it.

We have kids - that's the reality. Don't use your car for work, or ask your bosses to pay for detailing twice a year, or get over it.

If a job wants me to use my car for their kid, I charge them a flat hourly rate that's higher than my norm. I'm not record keeping for them every time we go somewhere.

Huh?

Are you asking what you ask for in reimbursement? If so the IRS mileage reimbursement rate for 2015 is 57.5cents per mile.
