That is why I think the "Get a real job, Nanny" posts are fake.
I don't know what you are talking about. Are you having a conversation with yourself?

Anonymous wrote:I work in a daycare and something overhear or even speak to parents about their nannies. I've never met anyone who had contempt for their nanny - some people complain that their nanny isn't the brightest or forgets things or does something else in an annoying manner, but every single mother and father I've spoken to always adds, "But she loves my child so, it's really not that big of a deal". I know people who got rid of their nannies who didn't 'love' the children and were cold to them.
So I wouldn't necessarily agree that contempt for one meant contempt for the other. Dislike of certain traits or actions, sure, but not contempt.
I've been a nanny for ten years and worked in a daycare for four, and I can name two or three instances where the nanny was terrible - and I know lots of them. I think this board has a prevalence of awful nanny stories, but in reality the percentage of horrible situations is much lower that on here.

Nonsense. The nannies on this site are actually more critical of other nannies as we are the ones who actually SEE the bad nannies day in and day out. While a nanny may be on her best behavior when she is with her MB, the other nannies see her at the park, library, classes, playground and KNOW how many nannies suck.

If I didn't respect and trust my nanny, I wouldn't leave my children with her.
Without the option of having a nanny, a working mother would have to choose between daycare and quitting her job -- to me that makes being a nanny a very real and needed profession.
