She's leaving DB and DS behind to go across the country for three weeks to do this. I know she's in love with her equestrian hobby and is very good at it, but this seems extreme. I'm worried because it's just me that DB has to rely on for that time (no backup care whatsoever). And he's got important stuff at work he absolutely cannot miss, so if something happens where I have to miss for any reason, they are screwed. Thst's a lot of pressure. It's easier when MB is here, but what the hell kind of mother leaves her toddler and husband behind for that long for a hobby?! I just can't even imagine doing that. Does anyone else think this is extreme?
No I actually have great respect for mothers ( parents in general) that continue to pursue hobbies, education, dreams etc post parenthood it tends to make for happier lest stressed parents which is great for kids and also a great model for kids.
As for not having back up that is a concern you should have addressed during the interview.

OP here and sorry but I have every right to judge her in this instance knowing the strain it will put on the family and me.

I agree with you, but this is pretty specific info. I hope that you MB or one of her friends don't read this and recognize you.
