Sure, I would look into an agency for the best nanny.

If going through an agency, if you let them know you will need someone in 2-3 weeks, I am sure they will be able to accommodate you if they are any good.

I would start now by researching nanny agencies in the area + try to see if they have any reviews available for you to read.

Good luck.

I'm a nanny in Minneapolis. I have worked with both of the big agencies here; Above and Beyond Nannies, and Nannies from the Heartland. While I had a much better experience with Above and Beyond; I would highly recommend either, if that is the route you are looking to go.

Word of mouth.

It makes me nervous to hire someone to watch my kids that I have never met. I can't imagine that nanny would want to agree to work for us without ever having met us either.

We ended up using an agency out of Atlanta (we live about 2 hours from there) after I was unable to find good candidates here online. It did take awhile (like 6 weeks).

My husband and I are moving about 1000 miles away this coming May. I have 2-3 weeks off, and I will be starting work. My husband already lives in the new state and will be continuing to work.

I am not quite sure how to go about finding and interviewing a nanny. I think that the 2-3 weeks I will have out there is too short of a time frame.

I am sure that I am not the only person who has done this. What do other people do? Hire someone over the phone? Fly out for the day and interview? Use an agency?
