Babywise can be ok if the people using it are not robots if the baby is indeed hungry you feed if obviously if showing signs of tiredness you put down to sleep.
If you are robots lacking sense then yes Babywise is dangerous.
OP, if you are very against Babywise have you offered a scheduling system you are more comfortable with as an alternative to the family?
Telling them I'm anti Babywise and want to do everything on demand probably won't be a huge selling point to MB.

I'm op. I plan to have a discussion tonight. MB doesn't think there is anything wrong with it. Majority of her family and friends used this method with their children. Her pediatrician even gave her the go ahead.

I too would tell the parents that while you very much want to work with them, your experience and current professional reading, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, will not allow you to subject a baby to babyWise method. Sit down with the parents with an alternate proposal. Or tell them that you have to leave because you cannot do that to a baby.

I got the impression from your post that you felt somewhat obligated to stay there because your other NF recommended you. I would not stay in a dangerous situation like that.

Word of mouth. I babysat for her friend and they recommended me to this couple. I'm only here until MB from my regular family ends her maternity leave.

The American Academy of Pediatrics has put out a WARNING against using babywise recommendations for good reasons. Babies who were on babywise have been found dead.

Baby used to go down every 50-60 minutes like clockwork but now half of the naps she will not go down. Sometimes she will be tired and not able to fall asleep ( we put down drowsy). We are following BabyWise and the mom wants her down by 60. Now she will be up until 90 with no priblem. I have to follow her rules. How do I get her down?
I have tons of experience with infants but not as early as this age or a parents who are so strict about it.
