Expensive pants are usually thicker, and may have more flattering cut. They also tend to last longer before they start looking faded and raggedy.

I would imagine that $100 yoga pant might, in fact, just look like stretchy pants.

Nanny here. I wear my, also expensive, yoga pants most of the time. I wear shirts that cover my bottom. I want to wear them daily, but try to break it up a little.

I wouldn't wear white socks with black pants.

I'm an MB, with twin toddlers. Seems to me yoga pants (or the equivalent, assuming everything is clean and presentable and not obscenely tight) are pretty much perfect for the job.

The nanny should be comfortable, able to get down on the floor and play, able to get dirty and clean up easily, etc...

Your work outfit makes perfect sense to me OP.

See, and I think that's ridiculous. I only buy my yoga pants at Target or Old Navy and even then only when they're on sale. I never pay more than $20 tops, and think $40-50 is crazy. Everyone has different priorities.

My guess though, is that the OP was trying to imply that $100 yoga pants are nicer than cheap yoga pants in some way. As if when you spend $100 on them, they stop looking like yoga pants.

If you're clean and presentable, it's fine. Not every nanny wants to wear a traditional skirt.

Nanny here. I work out regularly but still wouldn't feel comfortable in yoga pants at work, personally. However I do frequently wear the same basic outfit at work: corduroy pants, polo top, cardigan, tennis shoes. Like PP said if you're clean and presentable it's probably fine.

That's basically my wardrobe now lol, sometimes I wear jeans in cardigans or fleece vest. I'm up north it's cold.

I have had jobs were no yoga pants were allowed though.

If your employers are ok with it and it's clean and the yoga pants aren't the type where you can see your panty line it's fine.

Weird no. I do not think yoga pants are acceptable. There is a wide range between yoga pants and a business suit. Yoga pants are for the gym or lounging at home. Unless you are a yoga instructor they look slovenly for work.

It has just evolved into this based on comfort and practicality. I got a great pair of $100 yoga pants as a gift and bought four more pairs of the same for myself - they look and fit well and wash and dry perfectly. I have also gotten into one kind of top - a cotton turtleneck or mock turtleneck in different colors. White socks and running shoes.

I wear this outfit every single day now. I never have to think about what I am going to wear!

I have never been a "clothes horse" and am the nanny to a very active toddler. We walk everywhere.

My question: is is weird?
