Agree, good decision, sorry it didn't work out.
Unacceptable driving and very dangerous.
Not to mention sounds like she is driving YOUR vehicle, since the tickets are coming to your mailing address. Quite careless and rude.

If anything, you should be driving MORE carefully in someone else's vehicle and with their children and while getting paid to do so.

For me, that is absolutely a fireable offense. She serious endangered the life of your child not once, but twice!

Also, did you not do a drivers' background check when you hired her?

Is not driving an option? If not, here is what I would do. Also, I assume this is your car because you received the tickets in the mail.

She has to pay the tickets. She gets another one, she's fired immediately, no severance. I would also look into a drivers safety course. Either you pay for it and she has to do it on her own time or she pays for it and uses a PTO day. If she refuses, she's fired. Irresponsible driving is not something I would tolerate.

I don't know if I jump immediately to firing her, that's a serious decision and has to be made in a larger context. But I would have a very direct talk with her that this is unacceptable and I would let her know that you're considering firing her because of these infractions. Being able to trust in the safety of your children while in her care is absolutely non-negotiable and she is giving you repeated cause to question that.

If you are aware of this level of driving infraction then what else does she do behind the wheel that goes uncaught?

That's a huge deal. Wreckless driving with your kid? Yikes. She needs to stop driving him around before she gets hit. Imagine red lights she runs where there are no cameras?

I'm a nanny and I would fire her. It's one thing if she wants to drive like that when she's alone but how dare she be so careless while driving your child. I drive much more passively and cautiously when I have my charges with me.

I would be extremely concerned about her driving my child around. This is a big deal.

I would be irate. That is incredibly irresponsible for any person to do, let alone a person driving another person's child. I think she should pay for both tickets and if she is caught doing this again she needs to be let go immediately. To be honest, I might even consider letting her go just based on the fact that she had two in 5 months. And I'm a nanny.

I would be pissed but I've been T boned by an asshole blowing a red. Given this is the second time, she pays. If you can limit driving do it. If not, tell her that if she gets another violation (speeding, red light, etc) she will be let go immediately.

My nanny has gotten two red light tickets at the same light with my child in the car. The second arrived in the mail today. The light was red before she even hit the crosswalk. The first photo was taken when light was red before she was in crosswalk and in second photo light was red in middle of intersection.

She offered to pay for the first one and I'm sure she will offer to pay for this one but obviously That is not my concern in this situation. She is running red lights with my child in the car. I have never received a red light ticket at that light in 15 years of driving and I driven by it thousands of times. This is her second in 5 months. Who knows what else she is doing in car?
