I would say 9-10 an hour is great. Although- you will be paying more for this arrangment than just putting your kid in daycare.
We had a set up like this- where a SAHM friend of ours watched DS until we got a daycare spot. She was great- but I always knew that my kid took a back seat to hers. Naps were altered so her kid could go to ballet, doctor, ect. I did not freak out- this is what would happen if our son was not an only- but it did not feel great either.
When we got into daycare it was refreshing to know that all the kids were on the same playing field.

No she doesn't. Her child coming is a benefit. OP is still her MB and still determines how things are done for her child.
