The federal government shuts down all the time. We aren't all the 1%. The rest of the world continues to function. Nanny should have been to work on time and left early to accommodate possible delays. Every other professional job would be the same and nannies perpetually want to be professional.

There wasn't even a lot of snow this morning, how bad could it be? Do the plows push everything to in front of their house?
But if they're shoveling their walk they could try to preserve a spot for you - is difficult in urban areas.

I don't know where you are but here in Boston it is an unspoken rule that if employer wants their employee to use their vehicle to drive the children around and work for them in the city they must provide a spot that is always clear no matter what the weather

There were no clear spots on the street. This was 8am. Employers park in their garage. They were home for most of the morning and did not offer their garage (nor did I ask).

Why didn't you just switch spots?
Have ha lots of snow in my area, so there isn't really spaces to park anymore so employer and I have just been switching spots in the morning and evening.
But in general clearing your parking and sidewalk is not unreasonable I think.

Title says it all. Came in this morning and there was no clear place for me to park in front of the house. I managed to park but almost got stuck. I asked DB to shovel around my car when he went out to clear the walk but he said he couldn't because his back hurt. Was I wrong to ask in the first place?
