I'm off and from the looks of it won't be at work tomorrow either due to the weather

part-time nanny here. am working a shorter day today. parents are running errands. I don't have guaranteed pay but I'm fine with this arrangement. my parents pay my living expenses so nanny salary is all mine.

Nanny here and I'm off I've always gotten this day off and love it!

I'm off but home with my 2 year old who got up coughing at 5:45 am and has been up ever since. Being sick does nothing to slow this kid down. I'm honestly exhausted because there are no breaks for me. 10 hour days with 2 infants and evenings and weekends with my own toddler who is the energizer bunny!

Yes! I'm in my PJs and am planning on a Netflix binge day today!

Yes, I am! It is such a treat to NOT go to work on a Monday!!! Especially for a pretty nothing holiday like today.

No. MB and DB don't get all fed holidays off. They make up for it in other ways though so it works out quite well for me!

MB here. My nanny gets all fed holidays. I assume that's true for the vast majority of fed families? Who wouldn't want the extra chance to play with their kid when they get a day off? I think the mutual respect between us and our shared nanny is based on the fact that both families parent whenever we can, so weekends, holidays, snow days, early dismissals, and max vacation days each year (coordinated between both families as much as we can -- usually about 50%) she has off and we have our kids. She only has the "right" to weekends and named fed holidays (and 2 weeks of vacation + 5 sick/personal days that she chooses) per our contract, but could the nanny really respect us if we didn't want our kid whenever one of us has off? It's also nice for the other kid to get the nanny alone sometimes when one of the two DBs (non-Feds) has a non-fed holiday day off.

I work for two hospital doctors so I never get federal holidays off (since they don't). But our library is closed and my charge won't see his beloved mail trucks today!

Just wondering if other nannies are off...
