My little dude is starting school after the summer and ice known for a while that that's the plan.
Definitely give her a month notice so she has time to find a great job.

+1 And please offer her evening and weekend babysitting so she can see your son. If she was/is a good nanny, he will miss her, too. Don't just cut her out of his life for both of their sakes.

At least let her know now that you're "thinking" of it. Then a month is good for official notice. You have other options for childcare, another job is harder to come by.

2 weeks before school starts unless you want to be left high and dry in the middle of summer when there's no nannies available

How much notice should I give our nanny? She has been with us for 2.5 years. My DS is starting preschool in September. I kind of want to let the nanny know as early as possible but I am afraid she might try to find another job before the summer and then we'll be left without coverage. Am I being selfish?
