If she didn't know you had another gig right after ending your day with them, maybe your boss was just surprised that you were brushing your teeth at the end of the day (rather than after lunch?), but surely she realizes and is fine with you brushing your teeth or generally freshening up at some point during your ten hour work day. I wouldn't give it another thought.

OP asked if she did anything wrong or did anything that could have upset her MB.
I gave her an honest answer. Some people like myself and maybe her MB do not like people spitting in the sinks even if they clean up after. Maybe MB saw her spitting.
I am a nanny, part of being a nanny means realizing other people have other customs in their homes.
I never told her she should not use the bathroom or brush her teeth. That was your projection ( or English comprehension problem).
It's equally as likely MB made no face and OP is just projection, and as I said originally she is probably just over thinking things and worrying about nothing.

Actually they can not. I'd be pretty pissed if nanny took a huge shit in one of my toilets. They are for my family, friends, and guests. I expect nanny to be spending her time on the clock productively with my child, not spending 15 minutes taking a crap.

I brush my teeth after lunch at work every day. I have never asked permission and MB has never mentioned it. If this post is for real then either your MB has serious issues or she you misread her mood.

Weird question, I know, but I just wanted your opinion nonetheless.

I am a nanny and usually go straight home after my ten hour shift.

However today I had a babysitting job that I had to go to directly after my nanny job and I didn't have the time to go home and brush my teeth, so I brushed them at my nanny family's house before I left. I mean, ten hours without brushing my teeth feels pretty gross, even with gum chewing and all. I usually brush my teeth as soon as I get home. Being that I had to babysit for about four hours more, my mouth really felt gross.

So I used the sink downstairs, the one in the half bathroom/powder room. I had brought along my own toothbrush and toothpaste and used a paper towel and of course, I rinsed the sink, etc. I was finishing up when my MB came home and while she didn't comment, she looked annoyed that I would be using her sink for anything other than washing my hands. It's not like I was using the kitchen sink or even her own personal bathroom vanity.

Anyway, was I out of line? Should I have asked permission? I honestly didn't think it to be a huge deal until now.
