I hear the weather is pretty damn cold in D.C. if that is where you live at now.

It'll go away, just hold it out a little bit longer. At least the songs are good! Though I don't know how much I would love them if I had to listen to them all the time. (I did, however, listen to the entire 10 hour looped version of Let It Go on YouTube a two and a half times. It just really helps to belt when you're cleaning.

This is exactly why I don't let my kids watch movies or tv. My two boys look at me and DH as their heros instead of Elsa or Batman. I get the impression if more of you stopped pawning your kids off on the television there wouldn't be posts on DCUM asking if you love your kids.


Your children sure have chosen a hero who can't read very well. Good for them!

Op here Personally I LOVE disney & I like that they love princesses but I wish it was more diverse in that as well as loving things like art- baking- dramatic play that doesn't include frozen. It was fun for the first few months but we are heading into month 4 of obsession and it's getting too much. It's like a level 10 meltdown if they have to wear anything but a frozen shirt or dress. Just getting a bit rediculous in my opinion. They got a whole new wardrobe for Christmas and nothing but the same old tired tshirt. By the
Way mb dresses them in the morning so there is nothing I can do about it.

I would find that super annoying as well, but rather than trying to actively discourage an interest in Frozen, I'd focus on cultivating other interests - how are the girls on dressing themselves? At 3, they can start working on that. Pouring themselves a glass of water, cleaning up spills, sweeping up things that drop on the floor, memory games, dance (nice in-door winter exercise). Just keep introducing the same kinds of material you would to other kids and keep their lives a little diversified.

Could you us it as a motivator to try new things? Frozen baking projects, or snowflake crafts or even as incentive to get the girls outside more...do you wanna build a snowman??

The obsession will go away and be replaced with something equally as annoying soon enough. Use it to your advantage for now! Who knows, maybe Elsa's favorite food is broccoli???

That's adorable. You have gotta love 3 year olds.

Have you ever read "The Magic Years" by Selma Fraiberg? She talks a lot about why little kids do this. It's fascinating.
