The benefit of having a nanny/sitter is control and flexibility. Nanny comes to us; I don't have to do a mad dash to/from day camps.

My kids attend one week of sleepaway camp because they love it, but otherwise we do a nanny.

I have made $25 an hour for part-time over the summer for the last 3 years. It's 20-30 hours a week, depending on activities and travel.
