OK, I am so sad with all these posts of " What I did not get as a gift or bonus." Really entitled people it is a gift that no employer owes you.

Employers that read these boards, many nannies do not complain about what you are not giving them as a gift and love what you do give them and not try to analyze or compare to what others get, shame on them that do this.

It does not help when groups or boards ask nannies to post the bonuses they get and how much, I say to these questions it is not any of your business.

Cant we just end 2014 with a thank you

A regift without thought for the person receiving it is not a gift, it is recycling. No one owes you any gratitude for pawning your unwanted crap off on them.

This is a brilliant statement.

It came from the regift closet. Reread the original post.

Just donate it to a thrift store and get the tax deduction.

I have never nor will I ever be able to jump on the whole "re-gifting" bandwagon. Ever.

I don't care about being practical, etc.

When people's feelings are at stake, that should take precedence over practicality any old day.

It's basic common sense. Duh.

Regifts without thought to the person ARE insulting. A gift is about the thought, and that is a thoughtless gift.

NP Here. It's insulting, since you need to hear the obvious.

Every Christmas MB gives me the most thoughts gift that has zero to do with my interests or personality. I'd love to post the things she's given me over the years, but I'm sure she reads DCUM. I love my job, the kids and my Bosses. I'm not ungrateful and would rather receive no gift than a gift with zero thought, that was reported from the office party. I've been with this family for many many years so it's not like they don't like me or know my interests. Did I mention they're multi-millionaires? It's not like they couldn't afford a $20 gift that I like instead of the discards from regift closet.
