That nanny from H E Double Hockey Stick??

The one who wouldn't leave?? And the family that couldn't get rid of her??

Because by law they had no rights.

You don't want to be in that position OP.

Because as your tenant, they will have unique right that you as their landlord will not be able to just kick them out just because you are unhappy with their services.

Just some food for thought.....

It's called work for rent. Legally, you're paying the person "in kind", effectively bartering, which is legal so long as the value of what you're providing equals or exceeds the value of the person's work. The in-kind payment is taxable.

Here's a website that can help you become a "host" of that sort - http://www.workaway.info/information-for-hosts.html - they lay out some parameters regarding they type of work and how much can be asked in exchange for providing room & board.
