How is it not? OP didn't ask for your financial advice, and whether or not she can afford this trip is a judgment, and not for you to make. You do not know her financial situation, so shut your trap.

If the check is not post dated, there should be no reason why you can't deposit it today. Enjoy your trip, OP!

I was just thinking same as PPs that you can't afford this trip if you can't do it without this check. Save your money. What are you going to do after all this money is blown on motels and gas? Agree with this. You can't afford this trip. Check the date on the check. Also, get online banking. I deposit all checks via smartphone and never go to the bank anymore. Literally have not been there in all of 2014.

I usually get paid Friday at the end of the work day, but because of the holidays I'm off the rest of the week and got my check this morning. I don't get off work til 6:30 and would like to deposit my check earlier since I have it. I'm going on a trip for thanksgiving and need all the money to clear asap to pay for the motels, car rental etc. Would it be bad to deposit it this morning rather than tonight? the cutoff for my bank is 6pm
