Did you get paid for this?

Yes, I have guaranteed hours so I get paid.

Did anyone invite their nanny to Thanksgiving? Does anyone consider them part of the family in that type of way?

Nope. The family is going on vacation so I will be in coach with the kids on a flight while the parents are in first class. #howweroll

I am off Thursday and Friday, both paid holidays in our contract. Can't wait. Also adjusted my hours on Wednesday so I can leave early!

I have all week off. So 9 days off in a row, nice break.

Thanksgiving is a family holiday, and nannies should be off. If they must work, then should receive holiday pay as it's paid day off for most.

I also have the day after off and that should be standard as well.

I never really understand the posts about how "awful" it is when someone has to work a holiday. Usually, you knew that when you took the job. All kinds of people work holidays for all kinds of reasons, and just because you do it at one point in your life doesn't mean you'll do it forever. Some jobs just have long/unusual hours, and before you agree to one, you need to think about whether this job is worth it to you. If it's literally the only job you can get, well, there might be a reason for that.

How many hours a week does she work? How much per week does she make ?
