If my boss gets me sick can I complain I should not be punished for it because he's a dummy?
If a teacher get sick from her students should she not have to take sick days?
Anyways nannying isn't a real job like at a company. If you want to take off a day for your vacation just take it off, no one can force you into anything.
I guess you wouldn't mind if your nanny doesn't come in tomorrow, since "nannying isn't a real job."
If I come into your home and care for your vomiting, fevered child so you can go to work and I get sick...you damn well should pay me for the day WITHOUT it counting toward my sick time. Good luck pulling that shit with a daycare center or in-home daycare center. Without nannies and sitters, you'd miss work.

I disagree with this. Yes perhaps getting sick is part of the job, but if I got docked for falling ill after caring for your sick family, next time I'd just take the docking up front without having to get sick, ie. I would not waste my time, health, and money caring for you and your kid. If I'm going to have to take unpaid time either way, I might as well be healthy enough to enjoy the day!

Anonymous wrote:If you have sick days left she definitely needs to pay you and let you use one. I would probably wait to talk to her about it until she brings it up. She was probably just stressed out when she said that and won't go through with it. If she does, reminder you still have sick days left, so the hours need to come from sick time not vacation time.
