I am honestly to lazy to work out the awake hours but I would say if your kids are in school during the day then $600 for 3 days/2nights is good.

MB here. We have done this a few times and used our regular nanny. She gets a flat rate for the overnight ($75) and paid hourly for all waking hours - usually 12-14 hours of hourly pay. For her this is almost all at overtime rates so it's quite expensive. But for someone whom you aren't employing during the rest of the week a flat hourly rate is fine.

Hourly for awake hours, meaning what you usually pay her when she cares for them on an hourly basis.

Then a flat fee for sleeping hours ONLY if your children are good sleepers and sleep during the night w/out getting up multiple times.

The reason you pay for sleeping hours is because that is your nanny's time that she cannot be in her own home, in her own bed and with her own family.

I get paid my regular hourly rate when I stay overnight even when I'm sleeping, but that was my employers choice. I would have been happy with $50-75 flat fee for my sleeping hours. $200/day SOUNDS like a lot but if the nanny sleeps for 8 hours and gets $50 flat fee, then 16 hours for the other $150 a day is less than $10/hr. I would say $250 minimum is more fair.

Fly a grandma or relative in for $250 total.

we pay overnight of $100/night to our nanny. is the same in most big cities.

I charge my hourly rate until kids go to bed for the night, then the flat over night rate starts UNLESS they get up at night. My hourly rate starts again (in 15 min increments).
