Bad idea OP. If you're absolutely desperate then you have nothing to lose I guess (except the respect of your employers) but it's a bad idea, even if they do it.

Yes, this.

I did this one day and got so much I sold my crappy honda and bought a BMW. Now I post up a gofundme like once a month for extra cash. I love it.

I hope this post is a lame attempt at humor.

Since they have offered to help you out before, then I might consider it if the offer sounded sincere enough.

How long have you worked there and how many times your weekly paycheck do you need?

I would never in a million years think to ask my boss for a loan if I were struggling financially. It's the holiday season, so go look for a seasonal retail position to get you out of the pickle. Look into taking out a loan for what all of this will cost you, and then be prepared to pay it back. If you worked at McDonald's, would you be asking the manager to loan you cash? I don't think so!

I'd consider you outrageously unprofessional to do this. Go get a second job. That's what I did from ages 19-22 when I needed to be bringing in more money.

My friend did this for her daughters medical bills. She got over 2,300. It didn't pay for everything but it sure helped.

Don't. Just don't.

Incredibly unprofessional.

OP, if you do, get a second job to pay them back ASAP. It's a nearly impossible situation to pay them back since it sounds like you are living basically paycheck to paycheck. Just because they are wealthy does not mean you can take advantage.

Car, sure go ahead and ask since without a car you can't work. Tuition, get a loan. Living situation? I'm imagining that's a couple of thousand so no. I generally think it's a horrible idea to borrow money from your bosses unless it is a situation like needing car repairs. Some employers would rather give you a loan to get the car fixed so you can still work then have to find backup care.

I am in a massive financial pickle and need money to pay to move, fix my car and pay off tuition before the spring semester starts. Has any nanny ever asked to borrow money from boss?

They are very wealthy and have offered to help out if needed before, I just have never taken them up on it. I can't get to work or school without my car. And I have to be out of my apartment asap and am screwed due to my roommate leaving.

I just finished paying off the damn car and my last semester and do not know what to do. I can't ask family for money as they literally have none to spare.

I don't want to make things awkward and wouldn't even think about asking if this wasn't dire.

Anyone else been through this?
