I don't think there's anything with having a nanny if you're a SAHM. She is educating herself and has other plans. I would love to have that and have time for myself. I would just work around her and tell her thta you are going to relax. After all, she knows your job is tiring firsthand.

Gee OP, if I were in your shoes, I don't know if I could wait until the New Year.
Even another week would drive me nuts.
I have worked for SAHPs and it is hell.
You feel their presence all the time. You feel like they are watching you and listening to you constantly. Which they are.
You cannot fully relax or be your goofy self.
I would much rather walk barefoot across a bridge of broken glass 10x over than work for parents who stay home, working or not.
Even another week would drive me nuts.

I would still interview and let them know up front that this vacation is coming up. If they really like you, they probably don't mind to work around that.

So I have been with my family almost a year (in November).
When I started I knew db worked from a home office and actually it was great. Never saw him, kids just thought he went to work. Mb had a job, but quit after a few months. She decided she wanted to go back to school, great all for that. Here's the issue she is only taking one very early am class 3 times a week. She's now always home or going in and out. I really don't mind working for sah parents, but I feel more like a babysitter. When she told me she was going back to school she and I discussed my hours being shortened (which I could do and was fine with). But then she decided things may come up and I should be here. Its super awkward when the kids nap and I've cleaned up, I just want to relax and she's there watching me. Or I'm singing or reading and blam she's there.
I am hoping that I can just make it til January and then in the new year look for a different family. She really doesn't need me here at all.
