I'd pay $23 an hours for this is I was looking again. We currently pay $22.

You deserve at minimum of $20/hour, but you will go through many families who are not offering that. As many stated, most families are only paying between $15-17/hour which sucks because you can't really live off of that alone. I am 23 years old, bachelors degree and have 3 years of nannying experience and 5 of babysitting experience. I nanny for a family with NOW 4 month old and 3 year old (in school portion of day) and makes $22/hour. It takes many lame interviews before finding the perfect fit, but keep at it and you'll meet a family paying you a minimum of $20/hour

OP, $15-17 is just fine.

For one child? Definitely $15-18/hr.

It's worth paying more for experience, but a college degree isn't particularly valuable for newborn care.

If you want a nanny with a college degree and 10+ years of experience, you will absolutely pay more than $15-$18/hour.

THere are tons of qualified people who are fully legal to work in the US, and/or legal citizens who are neither "American" (whatever you think that means) or "illegal".

Re the rate issue - I've hired in MoCo for twins and paid $14-18/hr, depending on hours, experience, etc... (plus overtime and benefits of course.)

It appears OP is seeking a nanny with a college degree is well, so I'd also say $20-22 for the experience/education level OP is looking for.
