You may not ever get a bonus with this family, or maybe after the holidays this year they'll talk to friends and realize they didn't give you one, but you can never ever ever bring it up. That would be the height of unprofessionalism.

I'd give her a nice gift and heart filled card. After a month no nanny expects a bonus. I was lucky enough to receive a full bonus after a month of work when I started but it was a huge surprise and never expected

I wouldn't give her a full bonus, but if you like her work up until that point, a nice gift card for about $50-75 would be appreciated or give her that amount in cash.

No, I would not give a bonus so soon, OP. She hasn't had time to earn it! If you'd like to celebrate the holiday, give her a small gift or gift card.

Op, I am a nanny and I would expect a day off (only if you have the time off) and one day of pay as bonus after such a short time.

That is the standard for a nanny who has been with you all year. Amy nanny beginning in November should assume they're not going to get a week's bonus. I'd give a day's pay plus a small gift.

We have a nanny starting with us in mid-November. I've heard that the standard holiday bonus for nannies is one week's salary. Is that true even if the nanny has been working for you for about a month? I'm perfectly fine with paying that, just wanted to hear from others who have been in a similar situation.
