Update: She needs to pay her deductible (a few hundred) and then they will give her money for a new car, but given the condition of her car (older) its nowhere near enough to get a new one.
We're inclined to pay the deductible and let her use our car moving forward (which was the plan anyway, this day was just a fluke). She isn't sure she needs a new car anyway.
Does that seem fair?

Very good insurance means little if they find. Out she was driving for work.

OP back. We have workman's comp. She usually drives our car but this was just a day that our car was in the shop so she used hers. She has very good insurance, she said.

She also has the option of suing the other driver in small claims court for her deductible as well of if you pay for her, she can reimburse you if she recovers it later on.

If she is 0% at fault, her insurance company will make every effort to collect her deductible from the other party's insurance.

You will not know for sure if she is 0% at fault yet...You will have to wait until the insurance companies complete their investigation which should take a few days.

If her insurance company cannot get the deductible from the other driver, then you can offer to pay her part or at least part of it.

"Nanny, I assume that insurance will cover all of the damages. However, if you incur any costs because of this accident let me know and we will reimburse you immediately. I hope you are okay and not too shook up"

Her deductible shouldn't come into play if the other driver was at fault. Their insurance should pay for all of her damages.

I would offer to pay the deductible if she was traveling for work.

Our nanny was in a car accident today while driving our kids in her car. Everyone is okay and she was not at fault.
What is the protocol in this situation? I assume the driver at fault will cover her damage but should we be offering to pay if it doesn't meet her deductible? Or do we just see if she asks us?
