It wouldn't matter to me either way and I would just feel good that they thought enough of me to acknowledge my birthday at all. I wouldn't be offended or upset if they didn't do anything either.

If a family wishes to celebrate a nanny's birthday, the nanny should be grateful and happy whichever day the family chooses to acknowledge it.

Before, especially if you're giving money or something else that would come in handy during the weekend celebration.

Definitely before.

Anything after is like an afterthought to me.

I would be grateful however. It wouldn't be the same however.

I don't expect my nanny family to ackowledge my birthday or give me gifts.

However, if you all exchange gifts for those occasions before is better than after.

I learned that you celebrate things before, not after.

Nannies: if your Birthday falls on Sunday, would you expect your family to give you gifts/acknowledgement of Friday before or Monday after? Or does it even matter? If family doesn't do anything on Friday, will you be upset over the weekend?
