It wouldn't matter to me either way and I would just feel good that they thought enough of me to acknowledge my birthday at all. I wouldn't be offended or upset if they didn't do anything either.

If a family wishes to celebrate a nanny's birthday, the nanny should be grateful and happy whichever day the family chooses to acknowledge it.

My previous nanny family always celebrated with me, and I really appreciated it. It wouldn't matter to me if you did it the Friday before or the Monday after. Nannies: if your Birthday falls on Sunday, would you expect your family to give you gifts/acknowledgement of Friday before or Monday after? Or does it even matter? If family doesn't do anything on Friday, will you be upset over the weekend?
