MB here. I think $22/hr is on the very high end (I'm in Mont. Cty) but for a part-time position it's probably worth paying if she's really fantastic and very reliable.

OP here. we hired a woman in her 50s who has been a nanny for 12 years (at least) She has worked with a family with twin two year olds and twin two month olds when she started with them. She's wanting $22/hour and I wanted to make sure that was appropriate. thanks for the replies.

That's on the high side, but not outrageous. If you really like her, go for it. It doesn't leave a lot of room for yearly raises, but you will likely age out of a nanny fairly soon.

Hope she has a lot of energy...your kids will need a lot of attention.

$22/Hour sounds excessive, but if you really like her, your kids LOVE her and she is competent, dependable and trustworthy then how can you put a price tag on that, right??!

You should pay between 29 and 35 an hour for this and the flexibility you require. 20 is just too low.

Preschoolers, toddler, and young infant?

Please hire someone experienced, for your children's sake - I've seen awesome baby and toddler nannies totally melt down with four year olds and yours will have to manage all three.

At LEAST $20/hr to someone who has had at least two-under-three before (and preferably someone with way more experience than that) unless the hours with all 3 children are extremely limited (unsure what PT preschool and a PT nanny means in this specific scenario).

What would you pay part-time(20hours/week guarantee) live out nanny. Three kids 4,2, 3 months. Access to our vehicle. Older two in part time preschool. I work shift work so variable schedule including some evenings. Schedule would be set 6 weeks in advance. No extra duties (ie no cooking, cleaning laundry required)
