My friend says the lady didn't want to give her telephone number. She was contacted through emails several times. If I didn't have a number I wouldn't have taken het serously. For the poster who wants to know why this is a question,who are you to ask? This is a forum to share is it not?

Rich people will show up but might ask you to meet at a coffee shop, as they don't always want a lot of candidates showing up at their house.

I would have tried to confirm the night before. After 20 minutes of waiting I would have called. Then waited another 10 but knowing me I would have waited longer. I wouldn't wait longer then 45 min without any communication.

Why is this a question? After 10 minutes, your friend should have called or emailed or texted herself to find out where the MB was. I'd sooner assume that one of them got the date, time, or Starbucks wrong over some nefarious intent by the MB. Same answer if the nanny candidate was late. Depending on the response, your friend could then decide whether it is worth her while to reschedule.

I think it was rude and inconsiderate of the family to simply not show up unless of course something catastrophic occurred that couldn't be helped. Hopefully that was not the case.

I'd give it 15-20 minutes tops. Your friend doesn't sound very bright. Maybe she was at the wrong Starbucks, or maybe the family didn't recognize her as the candidate or maybe they saw her and decided they didn't like the way she looked and moved on. Hard to say, but I hope your friend learned not to sit around wasting her time on someone else.
