I would say $10/hr for the 13 year old, and maybe $12-13 for the 16 year old? That seems fair. If it's only for an hour at a time though, I'd probably just make it an even $15.

I have 2 boys - ages 3 and 5. I would like to hire my 13yo neighbor as a mother's helper for a few hours a week.
How much is an appropriate rate for a 13yo? I would always be home with the 13yo. Would never leave the kids alone with her.
My friend's 16yo daughter is also interested in babysitting for us.

We pay our preschool teachers $15-20 for occasional date night babysitting. They are in their 20's and work full time at schools.
