If she's entitled to 3 days off with no explanation and she happened to take one on that particular day then nothing out of the ordinary has happened there. She's just doing what she and her employer agreed to at the commencement of her job. No big deal! She's neither a bitch nor an idiot or any other derogatory term.

The nanny is not an idiot for taking PTO (even though she doesn't know what PTO stands for). The nanny is an idiot for being a judgmental person and then being proud of it.

She's mean and nasty and proud of it. She is an embarrassment to herself and all nannies.

I don't see how this nanny sounds like an idiot. It's not like she called an hour before MB had to be at work and said she wasn't coming in. She knew MB would be home, and she presumably gave her at least a little bit of notice. She isn't leaving her employer in a bind. OP has every right to use her PTO however she chooses.

Enjoy your day of OP!

Generally PTO means Paid Time Off, I believe.

OP here
Yup! I'm an absolute bitch but so is MB so it works well for us And PTO is just that - Personal Time Off. I have 3 days of PTO a year that require no notice or explanation.

OP here
I took off because MB is home today, otherwise I would still be there while she lounged around the house "recovering" from her 2 hour flight yesterday evening. I realized that other than a long weekend I haven't used any of my PTO yet this year so I took the day off and scheduled a mani/pedi!

OP shows herself to be one nasty bit**...child.

How far in advance would you expect notice for PTO? Or do you just not expect it to be used?

So lucky.

Did you take off just because MB would be home?? Or you weren't needed because she was going to be home
