She gets a day off because our schedules are light in August and it's not a big deal. I don't think $50 a family is that heavy of a lift. You sound like a delightful boss.

Our nanny share nanny has been with us for about 3 months and is turning 55 next week. I think the families will together give her $100 cash in a card and give her the day off. Acceptable?
