You don't have to use an agency for tax purposes. I work both through and independent of an agency and always as an independent contractor- laid out in my contract. Many others handle this the same way. Since you really do need to do all the checking yourself you're really just paying more for someone to present candidates.

Let Mommy Sleep. They pay their employees (W2) so you do not 1099 or have to do anything tax related.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an agency that provides night nurses/sitters for newborns? We want to go through an agency for ease/tax purposes but, of course, will still do the work of checking references, interviewing, etc. Thanks!!
