Hey, they don't call DCUM, "The Mommy Fight Site" for nothing. But of course, Mommies with Nannies don't fight. You guys are so sweet.

Another MB who doesn't talk about what we pay our nanny (except in anonymized ways to help other new parents get some idea of benefit packages etc...)
I cannot imagine ever getting into a "mommy fight". That's just ridiculous and silly.

The bottom line is that paycheck,
NOT "she said, he said."

I don't know any MBs that have been known to lie to their friends about what they pay the nanny. I know many people who employ nannies and we have never discussed what we pay. The only context in which it's ever been discussed is when one of us was looking to hire a nanny, and the hiring family was asking around for the average rate in the area.
OP troll doesn't understand NW moms very well to even imagine they might lie about the "deal" they are getting. If they were to lie, most would "brag" about how much they could afford to pay.

Yeah I am not keen to share info in our finances with neighbors so would not say how much our nanny makes unless someone I know is looking to hire and trying to get a sense of the market. Even then I caveat it since what makes our nanny chose to work for x dollars for y pay for us may not be the norm.
I would happily share sitter rates since that is less of a reflection of my family's financial situation since it is only occasional.

Total troll post.
MBs don't get into fights about snagging cheap childcare. That's just crazy. As PP mentioned, the only time MBs discuss rates, it's when one is hiring. Even then, in real life, MBs give ranges usually because they understand that every job is different.
As for verifiable proof? I've never met an MB who carried around a pay stub to prove what they pay a nanny in case it comes up in conversation. In fact, if one did, I would think she's a little crazy.
Most MBs don't talk about the rates they pay at all, since it is pretty easy to find out market rates elsewhere and most people don't like to discuss their finances.
#trollfail.

Same reason nannies lie to each other at the playground and same reason $35/hr nanny trolls this forum.

My MB told her friend my pay and I was furious. Quite frankly, it's no ones business to know what I make.

This is silly. What mom would want to seem cheap or exploitive when she isn't? What mom would want to go around conveying the message that her nanny is such a bargain that others should try to hire her away? It doesn't happen.
If anything, MBs have an incentive to inflate what they pay the nanny because they want to seem generous and financially successful and committed to the welfare of their kids. This is DC, after all. Not exactly a community where being a poor artist type suffering financially for the sake of ones craft is considered cool.
But really, the only time parents discuss nanny rates is when they are in the hiring process or considering a raise and trying to figure out what is normal. They might ask a couple of trusted friends, but it's not like the inquiree has any incentive to brag about how cheap she is. Most often, the conversation evolves into how expensive childcare is.

It's MBs, not MB's.

Never had this discussion with my mom friends. I prefer not to discuss any money related things with friends.

Why is it that some mb's will get into a mommy fight, about which one of them has snagged the cheapest nanny?
Each of them wants to have bragging rights for getting the best deal for babysitting labor. Therefore, you can't trust what all your girlfriends tell you, unless you actually see verifiable proof.
