Go away yourself. You aren't the moderator here.

If you want to hire master service person X, who has X established hourly rates, do you say, "I don't need all of your expertise, so I'll pay you only half of your regular rates."

I don't think so. Grow up.

Of course, if that lawyer or doctor or plumber has nothing else to do, they may give a discount, but don't count on it unless they're really starving.

If you can find someone else you'd like to hire who has less experience, you can save some of your money.

Yes, I'm in DC. Her rates start closer to 20/hr, but as I mentioned, her experiences is primarily with multiples.

In DC you'll get a newbie or broken-English warm body for that range.

If you want her, yes, you pay her established rates.

Educated, experienced, and skilled nannies IMO start at $20/hr and go up from there according to their specific qualifications.

You should expect pay her established rates, within reason, if you can afford her.

How much should I expect to pay an experienced, educated, and skilled nanny to primarily care for an infant, but also pick up my older child for his after school program during a 50-55 work week?
