My God. I am so sad for those poor babies. Sounds like they got lucky. The other child linked in the article perished in the back of an SUV. Every year our local police department does a campaign educating people about leaving young children in hot cars. Yet every year kids die like this. It is maddening.

I would never leave my charge in a car for any reason.

I hate reading these horror nanny stories. I really feel for the poor innocent victims in these stories who of course, are the poor children.

I am so glad that these children got out of this hot car safe, alive and well.

I wish they would have charged this nanny w/attempted manslaughter since both children could have died as a result, but I know that will never happen.

I wonder how this family found this nanny. Just curious if they found her on Craigslist as well and whether they ran a background check on her or not.

Stories like this really hurt us good nannies because it makes families think twice before considering hiring a nanny. I hope that families understand that situations such as this are very far and few between. They are so isolated that they are beyond comprehensible to me at all.

I cannot even imagine the mind-set of someone who could do such a neglectful thing just to get a suntan. Even at the young age of 23, I never in a million yrs. would have left 2 young children in a hot car just for vanity.
